One of the bands I am in, Three Bop, have been working hard in the studio and are excited to share tracks from our first album with you. The 9 tracks in this playlist in Soundcloud are all originals and are from our forthcoming CD. Includes two by yours truly, more details below with links to the individual recording in. CD with 4 bonus track out soon-ish.
Blue Lights was written 30 years ago by my good self. Cinematic vibes abound. Originally had vocals (first two verses are below), now a trio instrumental that has an excellent rubato intro and solo by Steve Browning plus the Three Bop treatment. ©GISCRegistrationIDNo: 2024OCT4309
Weeping car pass by
The streets look unholy
Blue lights singing hymns for the starless and lonely
Catch a guilty smile old habits they die hard
Life exhaled in air the moment passes slowly
The night-shift breeds its ghosts
Soul boy stepping by
Hearts on fire, sweet desire
I see the rain it falls like shadows from the sky
Autumn streets unfold, can't wait for you to know me
India More Beautiful (by yours truly) is based on a dream that became a poem. It then became a composition about 30 years ago and has been played by various bands. This version recorded a couple of months ago and starts with a 1 minute cosmic double bass solo that channels Dan Berglund and Eberhard Weber. A groove based tune that is given full flight in this interpretation by Three Bop from our new album. ©GISCRegistrationIDNo: 2024OCT4309.
