Featured photo above taken in Gratz 2013 at Learning Layers project meeting. Snap below is from 2011 Florence, Italy. I named it 'Walk on by the Duomo di Firenze'. In this year got I obsessed with street photography and shadows. I was in Florence for the SoMobNet project meeting, organised by the amazing Maria Ranieri.

Norbert Pachler and Ben Bachmair are legends to me. Writing our book ‘Mobile Learning: Structures, agency and practices’ (published 2010 it took about 4 years to pull together) blew my mind! And, after about 13 years (in October 2022) it has reached over 1144 citations in Google Scholar! Norbert and Ben were my co-authors and helped me see things from different perspectives. We would meet to progress things variously at the Institute of Education (London), St. Georgen outside Salzburg (Norbert’s home town), Bavaria (Ben’s pad) or at conference around the world. Collaborations took shape and eclectic ideas were explored. My ability to fit in and thrive in such an environment is, I claim, a direct result of the creative and interdisciplinary mind set that I developed in the 'London in the 80s Indie music milieu'. I miss these days. We were assisted by smart people: Gunther Kress (sadly missed), Klaus Rummler, Judith Seipold and Elisabetta Adami. Sometimes in life you get lucky ... but not so much at 5-aside against Norbert’s Institute of Education team … he is a goal hanger after all!
