Made my second trip to the edge of Yorkshire, the East Coast, on Sunday 7th August. I'm checking out places from my past. At least 35 known settlements from this bit of coast have been lost to coastal erosion since Roman times. No I am not that old. And, not a lotta people know that! Auburn, which was abandoned in the 16th Century and is now under the waves, was one such settlement. I sat on Fraisthorpe beach that looks on to the sea covering Auburn. Mum and Dad used to come here a lot in the '90s, even in the snow! It was a lot quieter then, now there is a cafe and large car park.
